Celebration of Great Saints – Birth Anniversary of Smt. Savitribai Phule

Organized by SPOWAC in Collaboration with Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation (BJRNF)**

SPOWAC proudly celebrated the Birth Anniversary of Smt. Savitribai Phule, one of India’s most inspiring social reformers and pioneering champions of women’s education. Organized in collaboration with the Babu Jagjivan Ram National Foundation (BJRNF), the program honoured her extraordinary contribution to social justice, girls’ education, and empowerment of marginalized communities.

The event brought together students, women’s groups, educators, and community members to reflect on Savitribai Phule’s remarkable journey—from India’s first female teacher to a visionary who transformed the lives of countless women and girls. The program featured motivational talks, culturally rich performances, poetry readings, and interactive sessions highlighting her struggle against social discrimination and her unwavering commitment to equality.

Special awareness sessions were conducted on the importance of education, gender rights, and the legacy of reformers who shaped India’s social consciousness. Youth participants also engaged in essay writing, art, and speech competitions centred on Savitribai Phule’s life and teachings.

Through this celebration, SPOWAC aimed to inspire the community to continue her mission of empowering the underprivileged and promoting inclusive education. The collaboration with BJRNF added strength, reach, and national significance to the event, helping spread the timeless message of social reform and equality championed by Smt. Savitribai Phule.
