SWARNA JAYANTHI SHAHARI ROJGAR YOJNA


- Objective: To address urban poverty alleviation by providing gainful employment to the urban employed or underemployed poor
- Supports skill development and training to enable the urban poor to have access to employment opportunities
- Empower the community to tackle the issues of urban poverty through suitable self-managed community structures and capacity building programs

639 people have benefitted under this training program till date.

NSDC [PMKVY 1]


Carried out in partnership with GIMIT, this training program aims at developing skills pertaining to the logistics and retail sectors. 

So far, 320 people have successfully undertaken this training.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : COMPUTER BASICS


- Objective: To digitally train the masses so that they can keep up with job requirements
- The Basics course covers an introduction to computing, MS Office, and internet browsing
- Students come to learn at the Centre itself which is fully equipped with 14 computers

770 trainees have completed this training since the inception of this training program.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : COMPUTER BASICS

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : TALLY


- Objective: To digitally train the masses so that they can keep up with advanced and specialized job requirements 
- The advanced course covers Tally, DTP, and HTML and is taught after the beginner’s course
- This is also taught at the SPOWAC centers

This training has been imparted to 63 trainees so far.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : FASHION DESIGNING


Fashion designing course at SPOWAC gives an opportunity to young girls to use their creativity and design garments that keep pace with the ever-changing trend of the modern society. Through fashion designing, an effort is also made to enhance the confidence level of the girls and improve their personality. 

This training program is highly sought after in our catchment areas.

Over the years, 1085 girls have enrolled in this training and successfully completed it.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : BEAUTY CULTURE


- Objective: To develop the personalities of the local community by training them with the necessary skills to work as beauticians in parlors
- Evaluation is done at the end by the Jan Shikshan Sansthan who issue completion certificates

Over the years, 476 trainees have been made capable of working as beauticians and earning a livelihood through this work. 

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : CUTTING AND TAILORING


- Objective: To channelize the interests of various women into developing a skill which can be used commercially
- There are two versions of the course – Basic and Advanced
- Women also use this to meet their family tailoring requirements, if any.

Since the inception of this program, 360 women have been trained and made capable of a livelihood as a tailor. 

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : ART AND CRAFT


- Objective: To reproduce utility items from those items which would have been scrapped otherwise
- It helps rekindle the hidden artistic skills of beneficiaries

Over the years, 116 people have been enrolled in this training.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : MEHNDI ART


- Objective: To bring masses closer to their age-old family traditions of putting on Mehandi at auspicious occasions
- Meticulously planned curriculum with adequate practice sessions is offered to candidates

Over the years, 168 trainees have been enrolled and trained as part of this course.

VOCATIONAL TRAINING : CANDLE MAKING


From being a mere source of energy before the advent of electricity, candles today are used more for aesthetic values & scent, creating a soft, warm, romantic ambiance apart from being a source of energy during power failures. A basic course in candle making is regularly held for the beneficiaries with the sole purpose of improving their livelihood skills. 

Over the years, 30 girls have learned from this program.
